The Engagement

Scope is established at discovery.

The first conversation is used to understand the company, the team, and the operating problem. Martin & Co. then determines whether the work fits the practice and, if so, defines the scope and fee.

Structure

The engagement includes.

I.

Team review Individual training sessions with the employees involved in the work.

II.

Diagnosis A direct report to the owner identifying the principal operating issues.

III.

Documentation A written operations manual covering the agreed scope.

IV.

Configuration OrdoVia set up around the company’s roles, procedures, customers, and active work.

V.

Training Instruction for the team before the final handoff.

Scope

Work accepted.

Martin & Co. works on the operating side of service businesses, including intake and scheduling, internal handoffs, customer and project records, documentation, billing procedures, role responsibilities, and employee training.

The firm does not advise on the technical service itself.

Fit

Where the engagement suits.

The engagement is generally suited to companies where the owner remains involved in too many routine decisions, employees perform the same work differently, important procedures are unwritten, training varies from one employee to another, or work is delayed or lost between roles.

Martin & Co. does not accept manufacturing operations, large organizational reviews, custom software development, or assignments requiring a multi-consultant team.

Fees

Fees are established after discovery.

Fees depend on the size and condition of the operation being reviewed.
